Ballet 39

"Ballet 39" is the lost ballet of Frédéric Chopin, a famous composer known not only for his music but also for the unique circumstances of his burial. Chopin's body is interred in Paris, France, while his heart is buried in his hometown of Warsaw, Poland.

In many religions, it is believed that one cannot enter heaven or the afterlife without their heart. However, Chopin feared being buried alive, so he had his heart removed. His sister smuggled it back to Poland in a cognac bottle. This ballet represents his heart, his life, and his experiences in Paris.
